Sports massage involves the application of therapeutic massage and stretching to assist an athlete’s performance and recovery from activity. It is recognized as an effective part of training for many sports people. Massage also provides benefits during all phases of the training cycle before during and after competitions. The type of sports massage required is based upon your stage of competition/training.
Stages
At Central Coast Massage Therapy, your massage therapist will discuss with you at your appointment the type of massage to assist with sports performance, fitness maintenance and body recovery.
- Immediately before competition (Pre-Event)
- Between competitions on the same day (Inter-Event)
- Immediately after competition (Post-Event)
- During the training program (Therapeutic/Maintenance)
